Abaseen Foundation is a charity which supports service users in rural north west Pakistan to find a path out of poverty and towards a brighter future. The charity’s work is multifaceted: administering schools and health care; offering emergency relief in a region heavily affected by climate change; and conducting research into such things as bio-fortified crops.

We assist Abaseen with their fundraising and stakeholder communications on an ongoing basis. This became critical in the summer of 2022, when Pakistan was hit by some of the worst floods and heavy rain in the country’s history. We created email and digital campaigns to rapidly scale up fundraising efforts, as well as PR campaigns covering the charity’s emergency relief operation. As of September 2022, Abaseen has raised over £126,000 in flood relief funds via their website — designed and built by TMD.

Abaseen originally approached us as they required a new website to diversify their income streams, and provide a more clear user journey from landing on their website’s homepage to making a donation. We worked with Abaseen to create a website that encapsulates all they do as a charity, with functionality to donate directly to the various tranches of their work. The website also uses plug-ins to be accessible to speakers of both English and Urdu. Finally, we tightened up the Abaseen brand — which had been in place since the charity’s inception — to make it fit for the digital age.

Email campaigns serve two functions: to solicit donations, and to fulfil the charity’s promise of transparency. Every campaign has a series of updates to advise stakeholders what their donation has been spent on, along with evidence of the positive impact of their generosity.

"We had been searching for support for a long time to develop our rather dated website within a budget that we could afford as a charity.

We were having no luck at all, when one day an email arrived from Chris at TMD explaining that they work with charities to provide support to raise organisational profile and maximise income at special rates and asking would I be interested to find out more.

I did wonder about the old saying ‘if something looks or sounds too good to be true then it probably is’.

To my absolute delight we have discovered that TMD are exceptionally good and we are so pleased to have their support.

TMD have supported us to develop a new website that we are all proud of, we have had excellent donor feedback and TMD are now pushing us to continue developing the website to include such things as a Customer Relations Management (CRM) system to take us to a new level as a charity.
