Govan HELP is a charity providing support to families in the Govan area of Glasgow. Its services equip children and parents with the resources to make positive changes to their lives.

In 2021, Govan HELP sought to update its image and communications to mark its 25th anniversary. The logo, as it then stood, didn’t accurately reflect the importance and scope of the charity’s work, which had evolved through the years. It also wasn’t accessible in the digital age — something that hadn’t previously been an issue owing to the charity’s minimal online presence.

We designed a fresh look for the brand, centred around the ‘helping hand’. The colourful shapes surrounding the hand represent the charity’s diverse services and services users. Appropriate design variants were also created and rolled out across digital and print. We brought our design ideas together into a new website, centralising information for Govan HELP’s stakeholders for the first time.

“We approached the team at The Marketing Department to create a new website, as we knew we needed something more up to date and user friendly that showcased our services, but didn’t exactly know how to get there! TMD really listened to what we thought our needs were and brought their own experience and passion to the table to produce a fresh new brand as well as a website for Govan HELP.

Our involvement with TMD came just at the right time – amidst preparations for our 25th anniversary, the opening of our newest service The Govan Pantry, and to top it off a visit from Prince Charles. Chris, James and the team were amazing to work with from start to finish. They made the whole process simple, painless, and professional. We are delighted with the end result: a new website and brand that we hope will see us through the next 25 years. If you’re a charity requiring experienced marketers, I highly recommend you look no further than TMD.”
