Remarks from Elaine Crichton, Inspiring Scotland
For almost a decade, The Marketing Department has been proud to work alongside Inspiring Scotland through its Specialist Volunteer Network, providing pro bono strategic communications, marketing and digital advice to charities across Scotland.
That partnership has been made all the stronger by the leadership and encouragement of Elaine Crichton, who has been instrumental in connecting us with organisations that have gone on to benefit from tailored support, many at pivotal moments in their development. Over the years, we have had the privilege of working with dozens of charities through the network, helping them strengthen their communications, build more resilient organisations and, in many cases, continue that relationship through longer-term strategic support.
As Elaine prepares to stand down from her role, we wanted to take the opportunity to thank her for her unwavering support, professionalism and commitment to Scotland's voluntary sector. We are incredibly grateful for the trust she has placed in us over the years and for the opportunity to play a small part in the outstanding work that Inspiring Scotland delivers every day.
We are also delighted to share the following testimonial from Elaine, which reflects on our partnership and the impact of the work undertaken through the Specialist Volunteer Network:
“Established in 2010 we work with over 500 charities across Scotland. An integral part of the support we deliver is through our Specialist Volunteer Network our community of Changemakers. Christopher has been an active member of this network since 2016 and has delivered over 140 hours of pro bono PR & Marketing support to 41 charities.
The TMD team spends time researching the charities they are matched with and delivers bespoke advice and support. The agency’s understanding of the charity sector, and their ability to listen to their requests is outstanding. TMD gets right to the heart of what the charity is trying to achieve in a very user-friendly manner. As well as sharing their expansive knowledge of marketing and PR he is always ready to offer additional help and resources to clarify any issues raised.
Christopher mains extremely modest about his commitment to the charity sector, nevertheless we at Inspiring Scotland very much value his continued support.”
While this chapter comes to a close, our commitment to Scotland's third sector certainly does not. We will continue to support charities through the Specialist Volunteer Network wherever possible, while also working directly with charities and social enterprises across the UK to help them strengthen their brands, improve communications, diversify income, navigate periods of change and ultimately increase their impact.
